The Challis Public Library takes great pride in its wide-ranging collection and resources for youth. We warmly welcome children of all ages and are committed to fostering a love for literacy and lifelong learning. To support the young people in our vibrant community, we’re excited to offer a variety of engaging fall and winter programs starting September 1st, 2024.

• Pre-K Story Time-Join us every Tuesday at 11 AM for a magical adventure at our Pre-K Story Time, perfect for children ages 0-5! This weekly event is a delightful journey where little ones can immerse themselves in captivating stories, sing along to fun songs, and engage in interactive activities that spark their imagination. With colorful books, playful storytelling, and hands-on crafts, each session is designed to foster a love for reading and learning from a young age.
• Weekly Wonder Club – Get ready for a thrilling adventure every Friday from 1:30-2:30 PM at the Challis Public Library, where excitement is always on the agenda! Each week promises something totally awesome—one day you might be crafting a masterpiece, the next you’re diving into a wild game, embarking on a story time quest, or even experimenting like a mad scientist! With new surprises every Friday, there’s always something fresh, fun, and full of wonder to explore. Bring your imagination, make new friends, and prepare for a Friday afternoon packed with fun and adventure!
• STEM Education–At the Challis Public Library, we’re inspiring the next generation of innovators through our STEM Education Program! Every Thursday evening from 4:30 to 6:00, kids can explore science, technology, engineering, and math in fun and creative ways. From coding and robotics to experiments and engineering challenges, our STEM sessions are designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning. Join us for a fun-filled adventure into the world of STEM!
• Teen Scene–Dive into the action with Teen Scene, our monthly library program designed exclusively for teens! Join us for an evening of excitement and creativity where you can connect with friends, explore new interests, and unleash your imagination. Each month, Teen Scene features a fresh theme with engaging activities, from interactive games and creative workshops to lively discussions and cool challenges. Whether you’re a book lover, a budding artist, or just looking for a fun night out, Teen Scene is the place to be. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of the ultimate teen hangout—mark your calendar and come make some unforgettable memories!
• The Kindergarten Readiness Program– designed to equip young learners with the skills they need to succeed in their first year of school. Central to this program are five themed backpacks available for checkout, each carefully curated to support various areas of development through engaging activities and resources.
