Welcome to the Challis Public Library!

Getting a library card is like unlocking a treasure chest filled with endless adventures and knowledge. It's the passport to a world where every page holds the promise of new friendships, thrilling escapades, and unexpected discoveries. So grab your card and let the literary journey begin! If you live within Challis city limits the card is free.  If you live outside city limits cards are $2.50 a month. And ALL children receive a free card. Bring your Photo ID and proof of physical residency during open hours and we will be happy to get you set up to use the library resources.

HEALTH and PRIVACY POD

Challis Public Library's Health and Privacy Pod is ready for public use! Stop in and get a tour.Two years ago the Challis Public Library introduced a state-of-the-art privacy pod, providing patrons with a secluded space for medical appointments, focused work, video chatting or quiet contemplation. Encased in soundproof material, the pod offers a sanctuary from the bustling atmosphere of the library. Additionally, it allows secure and private interactions with healthcare professionals without having to drive an hour or more.

Equipped with adjustable lighting and comfortable seating, the pod caters to all needs, whether it's medical appointments, intensive research, meditation, family chats or simply a moment of respite from the outside world. With privacy concerns at the forefront, this innovative addition ensures that every visitor can engage with the library's resources in a tranquil and secure environment.

We are currently allowing users on a first come, first served basis but please feel free to call and reserve at your convivence. 208-879-4267
