Youth Services
Challis Public Library maintains a large children's book section with a children's computer station in the children's area. The Library also has a youth book section with longer selections of interest to older students. For those in the Challis area, the Library supports literacy and love of reading and learning by offering summer and school-year programs for youth and children. These programs include:
- Preschool Story Time - Stories and fun learning each week for children of preschool age. Call the library for details.
- Summer Reading Program - Challis Public Library supports literacy for youth by offering a summer reading program. During the summer kids enjoy books and fun activities as part of the program.
- Homework Club - Homework Club is an after school program for youth Grades 4 - 12. Onsite tutoring, computer access, and a supportive, dedicated environment help Challis area youth succeed academically.
Homework Club is a project made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). IMLS is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums.
