The Challis Public Library is a city tax-funded library which has been serving the community of Challis for over 50 years. We have a collection of fiction and non-fiction materials of more than 16,000 items. Among our collection, you will also find a wonderful selection of books on Idaho. Additionally, we have over 500 VHS/DVD recordings and 300 audio books and recordings to choose from. We also now offer audio books and ebooks on Libby!
The Challis Public Library has a computing area consisting of seven public access computers (4 desktops and 3 laptops). You can also bring your own device and use our free Wifi. There is also a privacy pod for patron use with a new computer, printer and all the needed accessories.
The Challis Public Library supports our community in many ways, including programs designed to help our community’s youth and adults achieve success in their learning and enjoyment of materials. We offer the children of our community two reading programs that take place during the school year and summer months. In addition, we now offer STEM activities for kids several times a week.
See the Hours and Directions page for information on times and location.
